There is a HUGE Difference Between the Maple Knoll Inn and a Hotel!!

There are some very nice motel/hotels, but if you stay at a B and B you get so much more than a motel/hotel.

Each B and B offers a unique experience including some great amenities and a great atmosphere. At the Maple Knoll Inn we offer the following:

The House – Built in 1914 and features original hardwood floors and wooden built-in china cabinets and book cases. We have worked hard to keep the look and feel of the period of the house, including push button light switches, tiled bathrooms, and antique furnishings through out the house. In our dinning room we serve our guests breakfast on fine china and use antique glassware and “real” silverware. The house and grounds have a character all there own. Located on 3 nicely landscaped acres filled with mature oak and maple trees, it is a wonderful location. The home was once the home of an area doctor. The house is still known as the Doc Halpin House, to local residents.

Amenities – We have three beautifully appointed rooms each with their own personal style. Each room has a queen size bed. We use only high quality linens. We supply plush robes you can use during your stay. Each bedroom has it’s own private bathroom with wonderful soft plush towels. Two of the bathrooms feature large tiled over-sized showers with dual shower heads. One of the bathrooms features a wonderful claw footed tub with a shower. Whenever possible, we feature organic food and coffee. The house features spacious guest sitting areas such as our large living room, dining room, and second floor sitting room we call our “Sun Room”. Rush Creek runs through our property. In warm weather, use our screen porch or large second floor deck. We offer a wonderful continental breakfast during the week. The continental breakfast is served in our dining, no standing in line to get at table or food. You eat off real china with real antique silverware. On the weekends we offer a full breakfast. Consisting of one of our great signature dishes.

Atmosphere – The Inn provides a great setting for romance, relaxation, or to renew your relationships. Relax in our living room or sun room. After dark, enjoy what you can’t see in the city – the stars. The sky is beautiful away from the city lights. The Inn is great for a girls weekend, a team building event, or themed weekend, such as our Murder Mystery event or scrap-booking/quilting weekend. Play a game (we have many to choose from) watch a movie, read a book or search the web on our free WiFi. The Inn is a great place to use as a “jumping off point” to explore and enjoy the many things to do and see in the area – fishing, boating, kayaking, wine tasting, biking, cycling, hiking, golf, indoor golf, antiquing, thrift store/outlet store shopping, sight-seeing or enjoying one of the many festivals and fairs in the area. Before leaving each morning treat yourself to one of our sensational breakfasts.

The Inn has so much more to offer than a hotel or motel. No noisy kids running up and down the halls! Comfortable and spacious it is more like home than a overnight travel stop. If you have never stayed at a bed and breakfast, you don’t know what you are missing!

Weekend dates are filling fast so make your reservation, today. We look forward to seeing you.

One of Rush City’s “gems” is our Aquatic Center. The Rush City Aquatic/Recreation center is located at 305 South Eliot Avenue in downtown Rush City. Also included is a fully stocked concessions area for ice cream treats, snacks, pop, water, candy, nachos and much more. Open daily from 12:30 pm until 6:30 pm. They charge a small admittance fee. Check Out their website –

Patio Dining Near Rush City and The Maple Knoll Inn

grumpy

I keep hearing about the great patio dinning there is in the Cities. Some of the patios in the Cities are rather nice, but nothing compares to the wonderful patios around Rush City.

Two of our local restaurants have great patio views of Rush Lake. Not only do they have great views, they have great food as well. Our wonderful local patio restaurants include the Grumpy Minnow and Flickabirds. They might have funny names but they are worth the visit. For a patio without lake views, but still great patios, you can visit the Bull Rush Bar and Grill, and the Grant House.

So you can sit in the smog filled Cites paying for expensive meals, enjoying overpriced adult beverages and a view of….the Cities….from one of the Cities patio restaurants OR you can stay at the Inn and have a wonderful dinner at one of our great patio restaurants while enjoying the view of beautiful Rush Lake. No smog and meals/drinks are always very reasonably priced.

Great patio dinning is just one of the many reasons you should book a room with us and enjoy everything the Rush City area has to offer! When can we expect you?

Don’t forget the great patios at our local wineries!

Our “Personal Touch”

Many of our guests tell us that their staying with us is the first time they have stayed at a bed and breakfast. We try to put our guests at ease by showing them the all the wonderful things they have access to and can use. One of the things that our guest tell us they really appreciate about staying with us is all our attention to detail and our personal touch. Our personal touch is our effort to make every guest feel welcome and appreciated.

When our guests arrive we accompany them through the home our living room, dining room (we show them the coffee maker they will have access to during their stay), screened porch, and beautiful grounds. All of these are open to our guests for their use. We escort them to their bedroom and walk with them around the second floor common spaces, our sun room and large deck.

We take the time and effort to make sure our guests experience our personal touch. We want each guest to feel welcome and that they can find everything they might need to make their stay enjoyable.

We would love to have you stay with us allowing us to make your stay memorable.
